School-Based Healthcare
At Community Health & Wellness Partners, we believe having health care at school can really help families take care of their kids' bodies and minds.
Students can only be seen if their parent or guardian says it's okay. Our provider talks to the parent or guardian at every step of the visit. If you want, you can even watch the exam live through telehealth!

Benefits of a School-Based Health Center
Prompt/Efficient
When parents say it's okay for their kids to visit our school-based health centers, they can feel good knowing their children will get quick help from caring health professionals.
Convenience
Having a health center at your school makes it super easy for parents to get their kids the care they need!
Kids can see a doctor or mental health provider right at school—before, during, or after the school day. Parents don’t have to leave work to take their child to the doctor, and if medicine is needed, it can be delivered to the school or even to your home. This saves parents time and money, and helps families stay healthy and happy!
Enhanced Learning Opportunity
The main goal of having a health center at school is to help kids stay in class as much as possible, so they can learn more!
School-based health care connects students with doctors and counselors right at school, which means less time missed for appointments. Kids don’t have to be late or leave early, and parents don’t have to worry about missing work. This helps everyone stay healthy and focused on learning!
Promotes Health and Education
School-Based Health Centers help students stay healthy and ready to learn!
When schools have health centers, kids can get check-ups and care right at school, which means they miss less class and feel better. These centers teach students about healthy eating and staying active, and they help everyone make good choices for their bodies and minds. By keeping kids healthy, school health centers help create a happy, positive place to learn and grow. They also help students avoid trips to the emergency room or urgent care, so families can feel confident their kids are getting the care they need.

Helping Teachers Teach Their Best: When students are healthy, in class, and ready to learn, teachers can do their best work! School-based health care helps by making it easier for students to see a doctor or nurse without missing much class time. This means fewer early pickups and late arrivals.
Studies show that school health care helps students do better in school. It can improve attendance, help more students graduate, reduce behavior problems, and even lower the number of failing grades.
Teachers can be a big help, too! If they notice a student might not be feeling well, they can let the health team know. This way, students get the care they need quickly. Teachers also learn more about what students might be going through, which helps them support each student even better.
Working Together for Better Health: Sometimes, people miss doctor visits or forget to follow their treatment plans, which can slow down their progress. That’s where school-based health centers can help! They work as a team with your regular doctor to make sure students stay on track and get the care they need—right at school.
These centers offer more than just checkups. They can help with things like healthy eating and even getting medicine. And don’t worry—your regular doctor will still be part of the plan. The school health center just adds extra support to keep students feeling their best.
Your doctor will get updates and referrals from the school health center, and all health information is shared safely and privately. We believe your doctor will be glad to know your student is healthier, happier, and ready to succeed in school!
Making Health Care Easier for Everyone: When students can’t get the health care they need, it can make school harder—and it can also affect their families’ work schedules. That’s why school-based health care is so helpful! It gives students a trusted place to get care right at school, and it makes things easier for families, too.
Research shows that school health care helps students do better in school. It can improve attendance, help more students graduate, and lower the number of behavior problems and failing grades. It also helps the whole community by reducing trips to the hospital or emergency room.
Best of all, school-based health care makes sure that every student—no matter their background—has access to high-quality care they can count on.
Care That Grows With You: Great news! If a student starts seeing a provider at a school-based health center, they don’t have to stop when they graduate. Community Health & Wellness Partners (CHWP) can keep being their doctor even after high school.
That means students can keep getting care from the same trusted team—whether they’re off at college or living in a new town. They can have checkups through telehealth or stop by when they’re home. No need to find a new doctor!
CHWP is here for the long run, helping students stay healthy now and in the future.
