Vaccines for Children Program
Community Health & Wellness Partners is proud to work with the Ohio Department of Health’s Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program! This program helps make sure all kids can get the vaccines they need to stay healthy—no matter what.
How does it work?
The VFC program gives free vaccines to doctors and clinics, like ours, so we can give them to kids who qualify. The goal is to make it easier for parents and families to get life-saving shots for their children.
Who can get these vaccines?
Kids from birth up to 18 years old can get VFC vaccines if they meet at least one of these:
-
They don’t have health insurance
-
They have Medicaid (including Medicaid HMOs)
-
They are American Indian or Alaska Native
-
They have health insurance that doesn’t cover vaccines (but only if they get their shots at a special health center like ours, a Rural Health Clinic, or a local health department)
What’s new?
Now, a child is also considered “underinsured” if their health insurance doesn’t pay for vaccines right away or if there are co-pays or deductibles. These kids can get VFC vaccines, but only at certain places like Community Health & Wellness Partners, Rural Health Clinics, or local health departments.
